Takedown Tool

Use the Takedown Tool to capture the spring plug and spring on the guide rod for disassembly/assembly of your 1911/2011 pistol.

Now available in 2 sizes – 1/16″ (.0625″) or .044″.  The larger 1/16″ fits standard holes (and larger) found in most guide rods.  The smaller .044″ tool will fit smaller take down holes (.044″ or larger) found in some pistols and will also work in the larger holes.

Our Takedown Tool is compatible with any 1911 or 2011 pistol with full length guide rod, standard or flat wire styles.  The tip of the tool can be lightly sanded or the hole can be drilled out slightly to aid in insertion into the guide rod take down hole. (Tool dia ~ .062″ or .044″)

Lock the slide to the rear, insert the tool into the hole in the guide rod.  That’s it!  The guide rod, recoil spring, and spring plug come out as one piece, making disassembly and reassembly easy.

Made from Stainless Steel to resist oxidation.  A great item to include in your range bag for easy takedown at the range or a shooting match.
