WILSON COMBAT 1911 MAGAZINES

1911 MAGAZINE TUBE:

The ETM features the strongest magazine tube developed, significantly reducing common defects such as feed lip cracking and fatigue found in other 1911 magazines. With over 110 years of combined firearms experience, the engineers optimized the tube’s radius and implemented precise manufacturing processes to ensure tight tolerances. The rear observation slots maintain the tube’s structural integrity, while the selected stainless steel grade and thickness provide superior stiffness. The ETM promises a lifetime of reliable operation thanks to its expert engineering, design, and quality control.

The ETM magazine features a highly durable tube designed to prevent common defects like feed lip cracking and fatigue, backed by over 110 years of combined firearms engineering experience. Each bend in the stainless steel tube is precisely crafted for strength, with observation slots strategically placed to maintain structural integrity. Extensive testing led to the selection of optimal stainless steel grade and thickness, ensuring superior stiffness without brittleness. The ETM promises a lifetime of reliable operation through expert design, material selection, and quality control.

1911 MAGAZINE SPRING:

We’ve found a stainless steel spring wire that has incredible spring life. There’s no need to worry about leaving your mags loaded for long periods of time with this spring and will always be ready for use no matter the scenario. Another factor in spring life is the degree of compression when the magazine is loaded. Our engineers designed the ETM’s base pad to allow a longer tube. Although the ETM is not appreciably longer than a typical magazine, it has more space for the spring to work without complete compression or excessive stress on the spring.

BASE PAD:

The ETM’s almost indestructible base pad provides a sure grip when pulling a magazine from a pistol or a tight pouch especially in a combat or competitive situation when seconds count in reloading. If you have ever been in the rain, trying to get a traditional magazine from a wet, tight pouch, you’ll really appreciate this feature and it might save your life.

NOTE:

Some Kimber® 1911 handguns have barrel feed ramps that are left undressed at the factory and will interfere with the ramped front of this magazine. The barrel can be easily modified by a gunsmith to provide the proper clearance required.

1911 Fit Guide

Full Size Magazines / Grips

  • “Full size” denotes the traditional USGI 1911 frame size. Most 1911 pistols use full size magazines, such as Government length 5.0 inch and Commander length 4.25 inch 1911 pistols.
  • Full size grips have a measurement of 3.0625″ of center-to-center between the grip screws.
  • These pistols will use full size magazines and full size grips.

Compact Magazines / Grips

  • “Compact” denotes a smaller frame, such as most Officer’s length 4.0 inch 1911 pistols.
  • Compact grips have a measurement of 2.6875″ from center to center between the grip screws.
  • These pistols will use compact magazines and compact grips.

Please note that many other 1911’s exist that take neither full size nor compact magazines, but instead must use proprietary magazines from their manufacturer.  Some examples include the our Wilson Combat Sentinel models, the Springfield Armory EMP series pistols and the Kimber Micro series pistols.

If in doubt, please do not hesitate to contact Wilscon Combat.

Lifetime Satisfaction Policy:  WC magazine tubes have a lifetime satisfaction policy. WC will replace any magazine tube that spreads, cracks or becomes unusable during normal use. WC magazine springs and followers are considered consumable items and may require replacing after extensive use. Polymer baseplates can break if you drop a loaded magazine on a hard surface. We recommend metal baseplates for hard use.
